• My Goals for Your School Board These are challenging times for
public education, and the work of our school board . The board has the
role of  leadership  in public education. It follows that the Board needs
persons with demonstrated leadership abilities.

• The board can place the proper keystones for each student to learn
and achieve to their highest level possible. Board members' primary
agenda is supporting student achievement and involving the community
in the attainment of that goal.

Excellence in the classroom begins with excellence
in the boardroom.
Chilliwack Can Meet the Challenges of Today’s Education
VISION
We begin with a vision of the community education future and then formulate the goals, define the outcomes, and
set the course for our schools. It is about where we are going and what kind of school systems we are trying to
create now and for the future .I am not going to provide all the answers, instead I intend to listen to you.
For the past two years I have developed and taught Fraser Valley businesses and their employees how to develop
their visions into goals and action plans – and then to accomplish those plans . You can review my bio and business
background. at www.jackbassteam.com
Closely related to vision is our mission. At one level, the mission of an organization is what it is created to do. In
effective organizations, the mission statement also captures and reflects the core values and beliefs that guide the
organization and its members in pursuit of stated aims and goals.
STANDARDS
In a systems approach we establish standards for
performance. In order to know whether we are performing
in accordance with expectations, we need to establish
specific and clearly delineated standards. Those standards
need to be tied in realistic ways to the expectations of the
community.

ASSESSMENT
Promoting outstanding student performance based on
clearly delineated standards is central to the key . The next
step is to determine how well students are doing in meeting
those standards. Parents and school boards need
information in order to make decisions, not only about how
well the teachers , students and schools are doing, but also
about what may be needed in order to ensure that system
goals will be met.
